this was supposed to be my 100th deviation
but it took too long and i was too lazy the actual 100th was the sketch for this, which people keep adding to there favs so i hurryed up to finish this its just like the good ol days its a little bit of satam, sonic 1, and the modern sonic lol, i even saved it as a 16 bit Comments

-- hiya!  I'm Ki the Night Fox and KyleTheFox952, KyleTheFox952, RoninHunt0987, T9581away, DarkFoxProjectXaway, are a Fox Team! Newgen Sonic style twist on a classic cartoon. The background looks awesome.
Scratch looks a little too gray though, he had a purple tint to him as well, but the rest does look accurate for it's style. Though the characters seem a bit out-of-place in this scene, but then again it might just be the brighter colors of the new style. Sonic's one hand looks a bit messed-up though, just a bit warped, and Tails seems a but light in this picture. But it is still interesting how you mixed an old idea from a totally different style in with the newer style. Ehh, I never liked AoStH's Disney style anyway, IMO I think those people needed to go back to art school. So this is actually kind of amusing to me. -- Come give the li'll foxy a big hug! *ZAP* |

Critiques
The background is extremely well-done, with the 2D look still intact, yet with a 3D feel to it. Of course, it is the well-known Green Hill Zone, so immediately there is a feel of classic-Sonic-ness! As a critique for the background, I'd say maybe extend it at the bottom a little, or make the grass a little taller so that there is a more even ground-to-background ratio.
The characters now: I must say you have pulled off the modern colouring extremely well; it can look completely wrong if it isn't done accurately, but yours looks great! Tails' expression is hilarious and adorable, and Sonic's stance is perfect: you can just picture him pulling off some smart comment to the badniks before dashing off even quicker~ The badniks themselves look okay, but there is room for improvement, certainly. Coconuts looks fine, but I'd say Scratch and Grounder need to look more in motion. Again, this is just a case of extending the picture in whatever direction to allow more room for detail.
In all, a great piece of work here by =game5ter!
